The
Elementary Curriculum
Elementary
school is a learning environment that stimulates a curiosity and
eagerness for learning. The elementary curriculum provides students
with the basic skills necessary to achieve success in subsequent
years plus enrichment, extension, and remediation activities that
address the needs of individual students. Instruction is provided
in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music,
health, physical education, and Spanish. Technology is integrated
throughout.
The
secondary curriculum offers middle school and high school students
a wide range of courses and alternative learning experiences to
suit their individual needs and interests. The curriculum is structured
both vertically and horizontally for multi-year, sequential study
of major topics. Edina's performance expectations are designed to
ensure that all graduates have mastered the basics and
can access advanced coursework in preparation for post-secondary
opportunities--whether college, technical college, or the world
of work.
