Webmasters
The Edina Schools websites are managed by a group of webmasters:
- one webmaster for each school
- one webmaster for each major district department
- one overall district webmaster who coordinates school and department webmasters

Job Responsibilities
Job responsibilities for webmasters include but are not limited to:
General
- Follow the School Board's Electronic Technologies Acceptable Use Policy and make sure all pages on the site adhere to this policy.
Design
- Work with your group's web oversite committee (for example, BATT team for school webmasters or Department Head for district department webmasters) to establish design, vision, and content for website.
- Take initiative in creating the site. Work with oversite committee to generate content and assign responsibilities for creating pages.
Work with Teachers and Department Staff
- Work with TIS to ensure teachers receive appropriate training and guidelines on creating webpages.
- Work with staff in using third party software as appropriate for creating web pages.
- Assist teachers in designing and uploading web pages for class or group projects.
- Ensure that teacher/department pages are uploaded quickly (within two working days).
- Ensure that teachers and department staff have access to appropriate web tools.
Maintenance and Quality
- As pages are loaded to the web site, make sure they are correct (correct spelling, links operational, etc.).
- Keep time-sensitive pages up-to-date and consult with staff to maintain their individual web pages.
- Review entire site monthly and remove outdated material.
- Have responsibility for uploading of pages and security of the password.
- Work with web committee to assure quality of web site.
- Retain a backup of the website.
Training
- Attend webmaster meetings and training sessions.
