Kids Council
What is Kids' Council?
- Kids' Council is an organization designed to elicit and express student
viewpoints on matters of interest at Normandale and to teach students
how to work effectively in teams.
- Kids' Council serves as a democratic method for all students to have
input in the operations of the school.
- Kids' Council members are much like the Senators and Representatives
who serve us in the legislature. Once chosen, it is the Kids' Council
members' duty to represent the views of their grade level.
- Members are expected to be respectful and responsible in their efforts
and to come prepared to the monthly meetings.
- The principal and parents advise Kids' Council.
Each representative will:
- learn how to function as a team member;
- have the opportunity for leadership roles through the democratic
representative process;
- help plan school improvement, service projects and community outreach
between Normandale and our community;
- foster school pride and promote positive feelings among grade levels;
- actively and enthusiastically support and participate in the projects
selected by Kids' Council.
