Edina Public Schools Striving to meet Adequate Yearly Progress
District makes gains in all identified student groups and has the highest test scores in the state, yet, according to the federally mandated program, more work needs to be done
EDINA, Minn., August 19, 2010 – Edina Public Schools students posted the highest math scores in the state and the second highest reading scores – 0.3% off the top spot – on the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments-II, yet did not make Adequate Yearly Progress, a measure of the Federal No Child Left Behind Act. Overall, the District’s performance on the MCA-II was nearly 20 percent higher than the state average. More
