Go Green Committee - Outdoor Education

Edina Public Schools values creating learning opportunities outside the regular classroom and has developed facilities and grounds throughout the district to do just that. A variety of outdoor facilities have been created to allow students to explore and interact with their natural environment, including a floating boardwalk and outdoor classroom at the high school and the Highlands Elementary Outdoor Play Area. In addition to these, conservation and environmental stewardship are also highly valued by the district. Native prairies and rain gardens have been planted at numerous sites throughout the district as well as establishing the conservation of existing natural areas as a district objective.
