Open Enrollment

The Edina School District is pleased that you are considering applying for admission under the provisions of Open Enrollment. Our timeline for the 2012-2013 school year is as follows:

  • January 15, 2012 Parent Responsibility: Open Enrollment Applications must be received in the district by this date
  • February 15, 2012 School District Responsibility: Written Notification will be mailed to the families making application
  • March 1, 2012 Parent Responsibility: Parent/guardian must notify the Edina Schools of their intent to enroll or risk losing their placement
  • March 15, 2012 School District Responsibility: Edina district must notify your resident district of your intent to enroll your children in the Edina Schools

Please note the information contained within policy 5118.1 concerning admission. Open Enrollment legislation requires that you discuss your reason(s) for leaving with an assigned staff person in the school your student is currently attending. Usually this is with a counselor or principal. The reason(s) for leaving must also appear on the application.

Please fill out the application above; sign (we are unable to process applications that are not signed) at the bottom then return the completed form to the address listed below. We do log all applications so we would appreciate a call if you elect not to submit an application.
