The Edina Family Center offers classes for 2-5 year olds that combine an ECFE parent child day with 1-3 child only days (depending on the child’s age). The ECFE day includes parent/child interaction time, guided play and parent discussion. The pre-school child only days focus on each child’s social, physical and pre-academic development. Children do not need to be toilet trained to attend our classes. Each day includes large muscle play, activity centers, circle time and snack.
The Edina Family Center pre-school offers high quality child only classes that focus on each child’s social, physical and pre-academic development. Children do not need to be toilet trained to attend our pre-school classes. Each day includes large muscle play, activity centers, circle time and a snack. There are numerous opportunities for parents to be involved in field trips, special events and parent-teacher conferences.
These classes bring together typically developing children and children with special needs. Each class has two licensed teachers – one from the Family Center and one from the school district’s Early Childhood Special Education program. With up to 10 EFC students and 8 ECSE students in each class, teachers work closely together in a slightly more structured learning environment than in other Family Center classes.
NOTE: Hand-in-Hand follows the ECSE district calendar with classes starting
September 6, 2011 – June 6, 2012.
